Walt Disney | Animator, Entrepreneur
Dream big. That is the secret left behind by Walt Disney, the world’s most famous animator. Children in different parts of the world became happy with many of his creations, which have eventually become timeless classics. Did you know, though, that Disney was not always as successful? In his early years, publishing companies rejected him, with one even saying he was not creative enough. The famous animator did not let this stop him. He founded his own Disney Commercial Artists—a failed venture—but he was undaunted.
He gave a great degree of effort, and after many revisions and changes, he developed the character Mickey Mouse. The famous mouse appeared in a single test screening of the short film Plane Crazy. Seeing so much potential in the field of animation, Disney hired more people to work with him. He also signed with Universal Pictures and Columbia Pictures for several projects. All his efforts paid off as he won 22 Academy Awards and grew an empire.
